Traffic closure in the Celendín-Balsas section due to regular maintenance
Celendín, August 8, 2013.- ICCGSA informs on traffic closure in the Celendín-Balsas section due to the start of the regular maintenance works. Traffic restriction will be from 7 am to 4 pm, from August 10 to September 30.
The road manager of ICCGSA, Rubén Núñez, stated that an asphalt treatment will be applied in 55 Km of the section, which will give more convenience and safety to carriers. “Regular maintenance will support trafficability of the highway. This means that, from Celendín to Balsas, the highway will be fully trafficable using an asphalt mortar that allows protecting the road surface platform, avoiding dust and protecting transport units”, he explained.
The representative of ICCGSA urged carriers to be patient with respect to the traffic closure because it is necessary in order to carry out the regular maintenance works. “We ask the users of this busy highway to be patient and calm. These works will last until September; therefore, we ask them to take the appropriate safety measures”, he said.
Finally, Mr. Núñez recommended drivers to drive carefully. “Due to the geography of this highway, there are many abysses and curves are sharp. We ask drivers to drive responsibly and we recommend them to use the horn in all curves”, he added.
