Road safety training provided to school students in Huancapallac and Pampas
About one hundred primary and high school students of the villages of Huancapallac and Pampas, in the District of Huánuco, were trained in road safety, solid waste classification and road cleaning to raise awareness on caring of the road and the prevention of traffic accidents in the Huánuco – La Unión road.
These sensitizing talks were held with 85 primary and high school students of the “Juan José Crespo y Castillo” and “Tahuantinsuyo Pampas” schools and consisted in providing basic road education (traffic signs and risk factors, and traffic accident prevention measures), and identifying polluting agents, sources of infection and pollution on the road.
“Our goal is to sensitize the communities where we operate on the care that all people should apply to travel safely on the road and train them on how to monitor the good condition of the road,” said Elmer Cirilo, Road Manager of ICCGSA.
This sensitizing campaign was conducted as part of the volunteer work of the firm Ingenieros Civiles y Contratistas Generales S.A. (ICCGSA), as part of its corporate social responsibility activities and while in charge of the maintenance work on the Huánuco-La Unión-Dv. Antamina road of Provías Nacional of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications.
